The lonely mare Flikca

Flicka looked around Fingering Meadows.

Mist looked around the lonely deserted Fingering Meadow. She was a beautiful 3 year old Thoroughbred filly and was looking for a mate. She sighed and wandered around eating the grass. There was a movement in the bushes to her right and she looked up hopefully, hoping a stallion would come and claim her. She sighed as nothing showed and went back to grazing. The sunset casting a shimmering glow on her sleek, golden coat. She lifted her head as a slight breeze came carrying an unfamiliar smell. The wind made her silver mane float and her thick tail stream out behind her.

Flicka nickered to the new mare in the meadow.

Mist whirled on the spot and spoted the mare. She didn't see her when she first walked into the meadow. "Hello. How are you? Are you waiting to be whisked away by a beautiful and pure stallion?" Mist asked, excited at meeting somone else like her. A mare that has not yet been chosen for a herd. She trotted over to the mare and nuzzled her affectionately.

"Ok first yes I'm waiting to meet the love of my life and second I'm Flicka and third good how are you?"she nickered back.

"I am good thank you Flicka. How long have you been here for?" Mist asked.

"A while"she nickered sadly.

" I am sure that things will go well for you and a stallion will come soon" Mist whickered in reassurance. She nuzzled Flicka affectionately.

Flicka snorted."Who would be intrested with me?"

"How about you follow me, I know who would, well he let me join his herd so I am sure he would let you join too!" Mist said. She walked out of Fingering Meadows and stopped in the bush waiting to see if Flicka followed.

Flicka stand where she was."I'll stay here"she nickered sadly.

Mist walked back into the meadow "Why though? He won't bite he is nice. The stallion I mean." She walked up to Flicka and nudged her in the direction of the bush track.

Flicka snorted."Whats his name?"

"His name is Freedom and the other mare there name is Angel."

"Freedom?!I'm not living with him his my half brother"
